Places in Rachel to Observe
Here is a link on the Dreamland Resorts web site that provide excellent information on camp sites and some good observing areas. If you do decide to observe near the boundaries of Area-51 be prepared to be visited by Camo-Dudes. Other areas during milder temps will have people looking for Alien Spacecraft. Choose wisely...
MEMBER COORDINATED STAR PARTIES
We have been ask a few times about, can anybody registered hold a star party, without the Founding Fellows. The answer is YES!, use the message board to coordinate your star party. We will also post your intentions on the homepage to get the message out.
There is only one caveat. Anybody attending any star party coordinated on this web site, is responsible for themselves. Meaning, any injuries or accidents to equipment or people are not the liability of AGLV.
For those who don't mind a little drive. Central Nevada, in particular the place known as Area-51 has some of the darkest skies in the country. We have secured a private site, 15 miles from the super secret, non-existent base near the town of Rachel, Nevada and a stones throw from the Little A'LE'-INN. Look for announcements of our Star Parties.

OUR MISSION...
A new concept in Astronomy, where we use the World Wide Web to be our membership center point. Anyone from Anywhere can join up. It costs nothing, you don't have to attend any meetings, but you do get to have fun with others in the vast dark spaces of Nevada
The Philosophy of the AGLV is to promote the stars above without the typical "Society" attitude. We are modeled after the Squak Mountain group in Washington State, and proud to be considered a sister group
We are an unorganized (but not disorganized) group of amateur astronomers somewhat sited somewhere around Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America, Planet Earth, Orion Arm, Milky Way Galaxy.
Anyone with an interest in astronomy or telescopes is invited to the Star Parties, or Dreamland Gatherings. No membership is required.
If your visiting Las Vegas and wish to get away from the Glitz and Glitter, you are always invited to attend any Star Parties. Check the calendar for announcements or dates. Also, please leave your checkbook at the Hotel.
This site has become the new place to go for Astronomy buffs in the Las Vegas area. The idea that you can look at stars and not be a part of somebody's political agenda is a new concept.
